- Usage and style (usually based on a specific style guide, like OSCOLA.
Like a copyeditor, a proofreader searches for typos and misplaced punctuation. The proofreader also searches for issues like consistent headings, page numbering, bad line or page breaks, placement of tables of figures in the text, and more.
